Let's go!
Berta’s Sadhana
Sadhana from Sanskrit word, meaning path or spiritual journey.
I was born in Barcelona, at the age of eight we moved to the Basque Country where I ended up growing up.
I started practicing yoga like many others attracted to the physical aspect of the practice.
As a kid I danced and did all sorts of sports, discipline and motivation was there since the beginning.
The beginning was simple, YouTube videos and some kind of yoga rug.
Shortly after I discovered ashtanga yoga and practiced the first series alone for over a year. When I learned the full primary series I attended my first Mysore class, and first yoga class in person.
I didn't know what Mysore STYLE meant or where I was going, I knew about the mantra and memorized it through the Yt videos and self studying.

The teacher at that time approached me and asked me, who is your teacher. I said nobody, where do you practice, I said at home. And he agreed “approved”.
I was 19 years old.
I ended up taking courses and teacher trainings with this teacher and other yoga styles.
After I met my first teacher from the lineage in Sweden, Isabella Nitsche.
She refined my practice and introduced me to second series, which I ended up finishing with her. I will always be grateful to her and her teachings.
This is called Parampara, which means the passing of the teachings from the source to students, this way following the living lineage from the Jois family and Krisnamacharya.
Kept practicing rigorously, the pulling to go to India was strong, but I wasn't prepared yet.
I moved to the Italy in the Dolomiti mountains and started teaching Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga.
Went to Tenerife and worked in Purple Valley, was great to meet all the big teachers and learn from dedicated practitioners. There I got introduced to the third series with the fantastic Ty Landrum.
Continued spending the summers in the dolomites teaching and going to India in the winter time. Long stays in Purple Valley, where I met my dear teacher now Laura Glaser.
Went to Mysore after guru Sharath Jois passing. It was a very special time to be there. I learned about community and the importance of the Ashtanga lineage, honouring the teachings and following the tradition.
Together with my teacher and fellow practitioners.
Kept teaching and practicing intensives in Goa Purple Valley with my teacher Laruga Glaser.
Nowadays I consider myself a nomad, currently living on the West coast of Norway, enjoying the mountains and the amazing nature.
I am currently mostly teaching online.
I found yoga and acknowledged it as a way of living, spiritually, physically and mentally, nothing brings me more joy than to share my experience and co learn along with the community.
